John Shevlin – Director

John is an experienced and well respected hotelier and leader known within the industry for his ability to successfully maximise all opportunities with enthusiasm and dedication.

His success at Regional and Director level is due to the knowledge and experience gained from working in both the independent and corporate hospitality sectors. With a track record of delivering sustained revenue growth he has the ability to transform a business.

Kevin Keenan – Director

Kevin has had a remarkable career spanning over 40 years in the hospitality industry. He has successfully led a diverse range of both independent and branded hospitality businesses, from city centre boutique hotels to golf resorts. His results-oriented approach and keen interest in developing people have been key drivers of his success.

Recently, Kevin has taken on the voluntary role of Chair of The Institute of Hospitality Scotland. This new position allows him to leverage his extensive experience and passion for the industry to support and develop hospitality professionals across Scotland.

Simon O'Donnell ACMA CGMA – Finance Director

Qualified Chartered Accountant experienced in managing finance teams large and small for multi-site entities. Simon has the ability to communicate clearly and has a strong strategic and commercial mindset. He believes that businesses must plan for growth and grasp opportunities whilst ensuring the accounting fundamentals are delivered.

Stuart Horton – Director of Group Operations

A focused, customer centric manager with extensive experience of leading and developing high performing teams of up to 100. Stuart’s process driven approach increases standards, productivity, and revenue. He takes pride in nurturing teams and increasing sales and will always remain composed in high pressure situations.

With a wealth of experience in both managerial and operational roles he is comfortable building strong relationships with guests and suppliers in hotels & resorts ranging from 3 to 5 star and has previously increased sales in hotel food outlets ranging from pub grub to Michelin dining.

Ibrahim Salim Omar Salim – Director of Property and Acquisitions

With a proven background in operations, business development, and large-scale project delivery, Ibrahim brings a strategic and entrepreneurial approach to property acquisition. As co-founder of a multi-million-pound company and a key figure in the development of multiple hospitality venues, he combines commercial acumen with hands-on experience in negotiating and managing property deals.


At Effective Accommodation, Ibrahim leads on securing and expanding the property portfolio, building long-term partnerships with landlords, developers, and stakeholders to meet the evolving needs of corporate and government clients.

Matt Jones – Director of Revenue and Systems

With over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Matt is a seasoned professional specialising in Revenue Management and People Development. He holds a PGDip in International Hospitality Management, a PTLLS Training Qualification, and is a certified MEWS Deployment specialist.

His ability to translate data into actionable improvement strategies can significantly enhance business performance.
